Interview with Two Air Elemental Personalities

Interviews
So far we have met two elemental personalities, that of water and of fire. Water personalities are very introspective, emotional, smooth flowing, calming type of people. Fire personalities are direct, strong, very present, all about the now, and can energize a situation with a quick response of their body language. In comparison Air elemental personalities are very imaginative, flitting from one place or project to the next, with a seemingly carefree attitude, and radiate joy, their inner child, and are very insightful. They love to be a muse and swirl their abundant exuberant breeze into any situation that needs a lift. Sometimes air people can seem childish or even arrogant, and other times they are very wise and easily grasp the beauty of life. This interview dives into the life of two Air Elemental Personalities. Though they answered the same questions as the Water and Fire people, you may have noticed this interview is longer than the others. This is because one of the traits of Air Elemental people is their love to use language as an extension of themselves. As with the fire people, one person has more of a dominant air influence than the other. Each of us do have a dominant elemental influence. Perhaps you have found yours already, or are still looking for similarities. An important observation to make is how a person speaks as much as what they say. This not only provides great information on how elements accentuate perspective, thoughts, feelings, and attitudes, but also communication from words to body language. By reflecting on these nuances, we can discover our own elemental tendencies, and learn to be more understanding and better interact with those of other elemental traits. Q: What element do you most closely associate? A1: Air A2: Air Q: How did you discover what element you are? A1: When I first learned that elements influence personalities I looked at my life to see if one element popped out the most. I was excited and a little surprised at how often air stole the show. I wonder that the obvious wasn't noticed before. A2: From reading books on folk lore & mysticism From my studies in Astrology (Though I do not believe everyone is tied to their sun sign's element) And from experience of being me.´¯`·.¸¸. 8I8 Q: How does your element help you with others? your job? life in general? A1: Air affords me the tremendous benefit of seeing many facets to any subject or person. Just about anything can make sense to me; I can see value and rightness on just about any topic, plus see how it correlates to my own life. For these reasons, I find I am fascinated and accepting of many environments, people, and knowledge. Air also is an abundant resource for creativity and enthusiasm or passion. This has been a foundation in many of my talents from writing music to my healing skills, to just being a breath of fresh air to a stale situation, or a wise counsel. My lifestyle is all about keeping things fresh and light, and yet at the same time, organic and pure. A2: Being of the air element I am very open minded & logical, I'm a humanitarian and a humanist. When I work I tend to be in creative fields or people related/customer service fields. It helps me with daily life because I am tethered without it I need my creative nature to sore and shine.´¯`·.¸¸. 8I8 Q: What do you feel personally are the pros and cons of your element? And do you find it has more of a positive or negative influence? A1: I'll answer the second question first. Being an air element is definitely more of a positive influence for me. Yet it can come across as a negative influence to others. Some of the cons are that I tend to disassociate from society or others easily. I appear to not have any ambition or direction in life. I have few close friends, mostly because I tend to only gravitate toward those that are kindred spirits and everyone else are just casual relations. This doesn't mean I don't like people; I just prefer to keep things on a level that is easier for others to find convenient. A deeper level of friendship and I often come across as lofty and arrogant or even overly enthusiastic and playful. People find it difficult to find me genuine because they are not use to someone being so direct with words. I do not sugar coat things or say things that I don't mean, nor intend to offend someone. I am as generous with praise as I am corrections. There are times when someone thinks I'm being mean and lashing out at them or claiming something is there fault, when in actuality I am saying there is an error in the situation and this needs to be corrected. I do not know why people feel someone has to be a fault and it must automatically mean that the person who does not bring up the issue is the one who is at fault. Because I do not conform to normal categories of behavior I make others uncomfortable and I just don't fit in that easily. With all that said, being an air element is such a positive influence because of how I lead my life. My passion is spirituality, fun, joy, savoring the beauty of each moment and air underpins all my goals and loves beautifully. I love knowing the origins of things and seeing and hearing things that are subtle to the normal eye and ear. I love being spontaneous and acting outside the box. I think being an air element has helped me maintain my connection with my inner child and at the same time season me to a wise woman. I am saddened how I come across to others, but it is in my nature to be free, and full of authority over my own life, and that both intimidates and inspires admiration. A2: Pros: Independent, free thinker, creative, humanitarian, always looking to the future, always coming up with interesting ideas. Can be spontaneous. Quick to apologize when I'm wrong so we can move forward. Cons: I tend to be logical and come across as unemotional. If I get wrapped up in something creative It's sometimes hard to pull me from my musings. I can see the truth of things quickly and get frustrated when others contradict me and will argue my point strongly even if I'm wrong. Q: How does your element influence how you view others? A1: Okay, there are many facets or layers to this question. As I always ask my husband, which layer do you want? On one layer, it helps me to see through others. That makes people nervous because they feel like they didn't give me permission to see them like that; I was supposed to accept the mask, but people are not as private as they think they are. On another layer, I am very confused by people and am unsure how to be around them sometimes, because often what they say is different than what I hear their mind say or what their heart says. I toss between accepting whatever face they wish to show me versus wanting to stop them and ask them a whole bunch of questions, so I can make sure they are certain as to what they wish to project and what I am supposed to truly see. In one way I can see people's purity and in other way I can see people's struggle to claim or further deny that purity. So in the end air influences a lot how I see others, but I am challenged by all that information. I think the average person is not as in tuned with their spirit even though it resonates inside them, and the more a person is out of tune the more it moves me emotionally. The more someone is in tuned with their spirit, the more I desire to hang around them. They inspire me and I am proud of the journey they have undertaken to demand the dominance of their spirit in an otherwise conformed driven world. A2: I love people but I believe because I am always looking to the future and I am always so cerebral I tend to view myself as an intellectual and though I don't look down on others per say I do from time to time view myself as more enlightened then many around me. Q: Briefly explain what it is like to be your element. A1: It's like I feel a breeze around me at all times. If I don't feel a breeze, then I know I am out of sync with my spirit and purpose. Being an air element personality means I am innovative, a pioneer, eccentric, bubbly, playful, whimsical, rhythmic, and enthusiastic. Yet air is also precise. It is the one element that we humans can live least without. So this added component to air also makes me very serious, tenacious, accurate, and accountable. I come across as a perfectionist to others, but it is actually a matter of symmetry and maintaining tonal quality to the energy patterns I've constructed. Also as air has this invisible transparent quality, I prefer to study and regard the moving invisible subtleties that influence our world and person than the tangible measured obvious. Being air dominant it means I think and feel on so many different layers and know how to act on them. I love diving and riding all the currents of air. This also makes me a bit of a gypsy, because I like to change things up – whether that's traveling or moving to a different apartment to experience a new floor plan, whatever, I like to be mobile and am attached to very few things in order to remain mobile. A2: Free, Creative, both introverted and extrovert at the same time like air moves through and around you so is the feeling of inclusion and exclusion. Q: How does it feel mentally/emotionally, when you can be connected to your element? A1: At peace; at ease; restful. There is a stillness that I rarely get in this busy world, but when it is present, I am most at home. When I can be connected to air I feel like I can breathe and that breath tells me I can achieve whatever my day has planned for me. Being an air element also means I tend to always have a song or rhythm in my head and must express this rhythm so that it must soar through me instead of being caged in my person. A2: Alive, energetic, happy, to have those moments of elation when you come up with a great idea. To shine. Q: What resources do you use to connect with your element? A1: An electrical fan – even the sound of a fan relaxes me. I prefer it to be on all the time 365 days a year. Space – I need space, air all around me to feel I can operate (this also makes me claustrophobic when there is not enough space.) Getting outside, to feel the space and breeze of nature – this is why it is essential to have a balcony in an apartment residence. Music is a must and maybe more importantly composing music because it allows me to really sink into my element. My instrument of choice is a digital piano. Meditation is also vital, without it I feel stifled. I also love the internet. It is a fantastic resource to play and learn, and be free to explore and experience all sorts of lifestyles, cultures, and worlds that I otherwise would not be able to add to my life, all from the comforts of my personal space. I also use movies to connect with my element. Like the internet, movies allow me to learn about people, dreams, and worlds from the comfort of my home. People easily overwhelm me, so this allows me to dissect, contemplate, and really learn about the world I live in. My favorite movies are the ones that move me spiritually, that say something deeper than the actual obvious. And interestingly, I also use water as a resource. Water is like air only it is more tangible, so I use it as a current when I am not able to receive enough air. It must be fresh water, not salty, and I will either take more showers or I place the water in a dish and play with it on my hands. Just a bit of water helps me to feel the coolness of air on my skin or the pounding rhythm inspires a trance induced state that refreshes me. These are some of the resources I most readily think of that I use to connect with my element. A2: Music controls my mood greatly so I need the perfect type of music to be creative vs other music to be productive. I also breathe this helps draw in my element tho I'm not usually thinking of it in those terms when i do it. Deep breathing helps relax at first and then brings energy. Q: What happens when you are not able to receive an adequate supply of your element? (emotionally, mentally, behaviorally, etc.) A1: When I do not have an adequate supply of my element I feel chaos. I become more disoriented, irrational, depressed, and less tolerable. And yet, it is also good to have a healthy ratio of the other elements and I love exploring these different awesome parts of my character. But unless air retains its presence in these other expressions, I lose my equilibrium and sense of self. A2: I am tethered. I do not shine. I do not sore. Others around me are effected because I am not giving off my positive energy. If it's really bad I tend to get weepy and I can not hold my emotions in check as I start to dwell on negative emotions and manifest issues when there were none. I get tired. Q: What element do you find to be the most uncomfortable? A1: Earth A2: I get along well with all the elements and do not find that any certain one makes me uncomfortable. Earth can tend to be stubborn and unforgiving at times which seems unnatural to me. Fire can be easy to provoke and hard to rein in. & Water can be overly sensitive and get it feelings hurt easily. But I embrace them all. Q: When you engage others of your opposite element how do you tend to react? What do you do to remain in their presence? A1: Okay, here come the layers aspect again. While I find Earth to be the most uncomfortable because of its dense concrete matter and gravity, I also can be around an Earth element who is quite harmonious and balanced in it. I actually find them refreshing and I wish to learn from them so as to better integrate my shadow element. Now what I have found is that most people are not congruent with the earth aspect to themselves or some Earth people are just too immovable, flat, practical, and non-spontaneous enough for me. These latter people tend to make me fidget, because I'm literally trying to move the space for them. I just get irritated, exasperated, and impatient. Again, like not having an adequate supply of air for myself, I become irrational and less tolerable, and find it difficult to remain pleasant. For the former people who are just imbalanced with the amount of earth influence they have, I actually feel queasy and not up to par. The more out of sync they are the more I am overwhelmed. What do I do to remain in their presence? Again for those who are harmoniously balanced, it is a joy to be around them and I'm very fascinated and intrigued to study them. For those that trouble me, many times I don't remain in their presence, I'll just leave. If I must remain around them, I'll do it for as short amount of time as possible, purposely put as much space and objects between ourselves as I can, not look them in the eye, if it is plausible without showing disrespect, put my body at a side angle to fend off the head-on collision of their energy, not engage in conversation, if again plausible, and otherwise try to remain aloof. I also will naturally start getting hotter because of the extra stress, so I keep a hand fan in my purse and I start waving extra amounts of air on me. A2: I believe my opposite element is Earth I draw strength from it and embrace it. My significant other is the opposite element from me and we compliment each other. I don't think he fully understands it but where he grounds me i inspire him. It is not always such; sometimes I will encounter someone who tries to drain my energy and I have to remove myself from those people. (I do not always know if they are my opposite element however.) Q: What is it like to engage others of your same personality element? A1: Well I should say it's a breeze, but not only would that be a cliché, it would also be too simple. Some air people are too flaky and irresponsible, but I think it's because they use the air influence to an imbalance and then are too lazy to manage it, thinking their vice is a virtue. But some air people, and this really goes to any person who is balanced in their element, I find refreshing, invigorating, and I love our talks. It seems when we are truly connected to our element in a healthy dynamic, we really have much in common though we all go about it in slightly a different way. Air people like to imagine, and boy do I have a healthy dose of that. We like to dream, conjure, and play in the realms of imagination, which is not pretend or fantasy, but a reality from where all manifested creations start. It is fun, and auspicious, and exuberant to be around another air element. We can jump from one subject to another, without saying it out loud sometimes because we read each other's thoughts; we just go where the current of happiness take us. Of course we must side it with the air of accountability, but we are daring to stretch it sometimes to dance in mischief. And yet, as the sparkles and laughter start to melt away, like ice cream into chocolate brownies, then the intense conversations, and individual taste for life truly emerge, and there is such richness in these moments that I long for them in every encounter I have. A2: Sometimes it's like finding a like spirit, ideas meld and it's amazing creative intellectual bliss. Other times it's like a peacock parade both striving for the spot light neither hearing the other. Q: What do you do to indulge in your element? What extracurricular activities, places, objects do you engage in that support your element? A1: What I really like to do to indulge in my element is to be nude, especially under a moonlit sky. All that air on my skin! I can't get enough air on my skin. For this reason, I do not like layers of clothes or thick shoes. I have to be able to breathe, even my feet. I love renting a cabin up in the mountains so I can breathe all that fresh air and take in all that space. I like fresh cold air and enjoy winters for their still coldness and the summers for the joy of interacting with an air conditioner. I love playing the piano. You would think I would prefer a wind instrument instead, but I spend too much time giving away my air, and the piano allows me to move with the air. I love to be dramatic and accentuate words, emotions, and rhythm; therefore, I am very expressive and am always making faces or noises. I love to laugh and am always trying to come up with a way to make people laugh or to feel mirth; this increases their own air. It is a secretive pleasure to feel air surge in others. I love to spin and jump in water puddles. I love sparkly things. I enjoy a good non-fiction book that is as multi-layered or deep as I am; I abhor the general mass production of average thinking, elementary books that take up most bookstore shelves. I also like to write books and poetry. I constantly feel an internal rhythm, so I try and translate this rhythm into words. I am a big night dreamer and remember them quite vividly, so I also like to keep a journal of them. I think in terms of dialogue, so I am always in conversation mode, whether I am talking out loud to myself or to someone else. I like to sit out on my balcony and talk to the ethers. I like to go on outings on the weekend, preferably somewhere in nature. Though trees are technically earth creatures, they are also air, because it is from them we receive our oxygen, so I love to rest among trees. I like fans, windows, and deep conversations. I enjoy the cinema. I look for revelations and epiphanies in every day. I adore sacred gatherings. I would say spiritual gatherings, but I have discovered that not all spiritual gatherings are sacred, while some non-spiritually oriented gatherings are sacred. And what I crave for and is therefore an indulgent whenever I can experience it, is the stillness of life. Sometimes that is in nature, sometimes it is in a moment, in a pause, in a look, in a sigh, in an expression, whatever, the stillness, that place where the air is expectant and yet already exists, this timeless paradox within time, that is what I search for in everything I do. A2: I indulge in reading and music. Writing and photography. I go to social events & dance. I use magic in my life and surround myself with positive energy and thoughts. Q: What advice would you give others of your element? A1: We need to temper and pace ourselves. We must temper our wind to be more harmonious with another (although I agree that sometimes the reason we are in a certain situation is to kick up some dust and blow off the dirt). Sometimes our abundance of air and personal freedom can be quite overwhelming for another who struggles with their own esteem and security.. Let's not bowl them over with too much at one time whether that is with our exuberance or our insight. I realize that is rather challenging sometimes, so also do not compromise either. Never compromise yourself. Also, we have got to learn to pace ourselves and to regroup. We like to go full steam ahead all the time, but we are in earthly bodies, so we have to make peace with this limitation. Just because we have to stop and regenerate doesn't mean we won't reach our high again. Find a rhythm that works for you, but don't be so resistant to slowing down to regain your breath. I realize your spirit isn't out of breath, but again, you have to acknowledge that we are presently a combination of earth and spirit, and our earth self needs time. A2: Finish one of your projects, it's almost as amazing as the idea to start a project.´¯`·.¸¸. 8I8 Q: What is the one thing you would want others to understand about what it is like to be your element and how we can support you? A1: We are very multidimensional people. We may come across as being flighty, aloof, aimless, arrogant, a perfectionist, or even simple-minded and immature people, but we are far from it. Your biggest mistake is that you underestimate us. We are actually very driven, very focused, very complex oriented people. We focus on the abstract, which is quite interpretive, and therefore has many resulting manifestations. This does not mean we are impressionable, but rather that we like to play in many different arenas and don't like to be committed to just one expression. One of our greatest gifts is that we don't limit ourselves or the things of life to definition and categories. It is by rediscovering something we thought we knew that we learn of its eternity. Humans limit by defining. We must be willing to give up everything we think we understand to embrace what is, and then give that up to see more than we have before. This desire for life is what causes air elements to be less interested in the tangible and concrete, and therefore we don't really fit into society which is all about the physical and measured. Don't treat us sub-standard or with disdain, mocking us behind our backs. You think you have figured us out because you are most comfortable with categories and definitions, and we don't normally fit into a category that is a complement to your comfort. Please, instead, try to be comfortable with no definition, so that you can see us truly. A2: AIR is part of everything. Even though we want to belong to one thing, it's hard for us, so when we find someone special and hold on that is significant, be that person friend or lover. We need to know that we are just as important to you as the decision was to us. Q: What technique(s) do you use to channel your element? A1: Meditation, music, words, vibrational healing, character traits of honesty, authenticity, and accountability. I also try to make every day playful in some way, so I love to dramatize and be full of expression. A2: Smiling, shifting my mood, positive thoughts and energy, breathing, music & visualization. Q: Do you have other terms for this elemental association? What are they? A1: Sometimes I think being an air element is close to being a spiritually oriented element, simply because air is about purity, origins, and essence, and all those things find their home in spirit. Air is the expression, but spirit is the experience we express. Maybe that can be said for all pure tones of each elemental personality. I just know that as an air person I love being attuned to the subtle spiritual things of life. A2: Will, positive energy, Happy place. Q: What is your favorite thing about being your element? Your most challenging? A1: With all the pleasures and gifts that diving into the intangible gives me, I would have to say that has a human, my favorite thing about being an air element, is the sense of authority I own. My life is between me and God and that is not defined or ordered by anyone else. Humanity is full of uncertainty, and authority is a big issue for many, and in this I am glad that I have no problem seeing this situation clearly. The most challenging thing about my element is that it deeply bothers me when I am rejected by others solely based on appearances. Sometimes I do wish I could blend in better. But I can't go against my nature, it doesn't work. I don't mean to make others uncomfortable, but I wish when they did struggle with our relationship or something I have done they would talk with me instead of rejecting and/or mocking me. I think my biggest pet peeve is unaccountability. I just don't understand why anyone would exercise it. A2: I love being creative, I love the hope I have for a brighter future, My positive out look on life, my ability to let go of stress. It's challenging to balance dreams and reality. Q: What habits do you associate with your element? e.g., how do you compensate, what ticks do you have, routines, thought patterns, etc. A1: Okay, well, as far as routines go, I like to isolate myself, so that I have plenty of room to find the stillness. I like to mediate and dream. I remember my night dreams. I am good with memorization, and am detail oriented. I normally like music in the background, and the whirring of the fan. I like deep conversations and usually press for them, even in an unreasonable hour. I like to play and tend to sleep late, but when I wake want to jump from one laughter puddle to another. Likewise, when I go to sleep, talk until I am tuckered out, which usually I am the last to do. I am a night owl in that respect. I prefer darkness and the moon over the heat of the day, although I do like the light. I am uncomfortable with curtains or blinds closed on the windows because they also snuff out the air. You may have noticed, but I also write and talk in long sentences, and go off on tangents, and process out loud. I don't like the hair on the back of my neck, because I want to feel a breeze, but I like long hair, so I usually wear my hair in a ponytail. I will prolong using the bathroom, or going to bed, or eating, just so that I can continue giving all my attention to the event at hand. I don't want to stop, and ending the day is the hardest. I mean, tomorrow the body will reset, and we're having fun now, so why should that stop? I like rings – sparkly things on my fingers. The better mood I am in, the more sparkles I have on my hands. I'm left handed, so I'm sure that correlates to air element somehow too, as left handed people are known to be more abstract artistic minded people. One of my favorite possessions is a witch's broom known as a besom, because it reminds me of spiritual flight, magick, and air. I am the type of person that doesn't feel I have to constantly connect with you in order to love you. I am connected to you as soon as I remember you in my heart and see you. It seems unnecessary and even forcing the issue to try and keep up relations when it doesn't come naturally. It doesn't mean I don't like you, but rather it seems obvious to me we are not walking the same path at the moment, so you enjoy your flowers and road and I'll enjoy mine. Then when our roads cross paths again, there can be hugs and joy all around. Why must it be a continuous ongoing thing? Don't get me wrong, I do have those relations in my life, but it seems most unnatural that every friend or even family member I have I should be close buddy too, when it is obvious we have different lifestyles, directions, and personalities in life. In this way, yes, I have very casual relationships. I like people for who they are, as they are, and don't ask for more than that. It goes against my grain to tie myself to another, unless it is obvious to me there should be that bond. Again, in that way, I easily appreciate the scenario friend for a reason, season, and lifetime. Also, my editor catches me a lot on this, but I have a tendency to see things either from its conception or in its present expression, so I tend to say “she began to do something” or “she is doing something” a lot. I describe it in terms of origin or being. To describe it otherwise is to give the verb the purpose and meaning of the sentence and not the subject. That seems backwards to me, although a well written sentence is a beautiful construction. I just think most people (subject) think they are sum of their experiences (verbs) when it is the other way around. The experiences (verbs) find their meaning by the person (subject) who lives them. The subject is not the variable, therefore it is always beginning the verb or experience or being the verb or experience. Anyway, that was my tangent for this question. And last, but not least, I enjoy rhythm and innocence. I am constantly creative in order to release the torrent of rhythm and joy swirling in my heart. A2: I have to set alarms for everything or I’ll forget to do the most mundane of tasks. Q: From the following choices which statement most resembles the way you approach life (or is there another phrase and what would that be): I am; I feel; I do; I love; I speak; I see; I understand; other? A1: I understand, absolutely. A2: I see, -- I believe! -- I dream
Q: Do others call you by any nicknames that just happen to be in association with your element? What are they? A1: I've been called Sunshine, which has to do more with the ray of the sun rather than the sun itself, so I think that speaks to air. I've been called Aimless, which is a person's misconception of an air person. I've been called a Storyteller, for my passion to animate and bring to life many characters in a story. Again this speaks to my fascination with exploring new concepts about myself as well as learning new personalities. I've also been called Reverend , but in a derogatory sense, because of my insistence on accuracy and accountability. A2: Tink or Pixie - Though not used as much lately. I'm the butterfly. Q: When you find you are emotionally out of control with your element what do you you do to reign it in and find your balance again? mentally out of control? What outlets do you find help you the best? A1: When I am out of control of my element I am usually completely annoyed and frustrated, so I must clean my space; the air must flow within my heart. To do this, I detach from the situation. I must shift the energy, so either I will walk away and do something else or I will go neutral, find my center (because I know that if I am out of control I have lost my center) and interact on a new subject. It makes people confused when I can do this so quickly. I realize I have clung too completely to one definition or viewpoint of something and I must let it go to see clearly. What results is that we both can breathe. My best outlet is not really anything outside of me, but by reconnecting with my own authority, my own center. That place is pure and untroubled, and when I resonate with it again, everything else automatically becomes untroubled. I no longer am concerned about what I was concerned about moments before. I am no longer attached to it. Authority is not about some superior status, it is about knowing yourself. Sometimes my loss of control is due to defining myself in terms of the roles I play instead of who I am. A2: When I'm out of control I get angry or depressed. To reign myself in can sometimes take weeks. But I do not like the feeling of anger or depression and once I realize what is happening I try to focus on the good work it out logically detach from the emotions and get back to balanced. I often seek the aid of my stabling soul mate, my balance. Q: How has being your element affect your relationships with others? with your significant someone? A1: I've already discussed a lot of how being my element affects my other relationships. I find, or they find, I am somewhat of a quandary for them. The relationship starts off sweet when they experience my generous, helpful, and joyful side. However, they underestimate me as being someone who can be easily manipulated and available for their own purposes, and when this proves wrong, grief usually ensues along with the breaking of the relationship. It takes a strong centered person to either not have that issue with me or find their way back to desiring a relationship with me. I am not fond of confrontations, but I am good at them and do not shy away from them. I think fierce conversations are the only way to go, I just don't know why they must be postponed until there is a storm brewing. I'm all about being direct, honest, and authentic. My kindnesses are misinterpreted after awhile as flattery and fake, and therefore, I go from being a kind spirit to a contemptuous person who is not to be trusted or someone to mock behind my back but kind to my face. I suppose this is another reason why I have very few friends, I choose my relationships carefully. A person must know their own center if a successful friendship is to be maintained. My relationship with my husband has its own dimension. He is a fire element, so I breathe life to him. Sometimes that stokes the fire into a blaze in both directions, both in constructive and destructive ways. He likes it when I am direct and honest, but he doesn't like it so much when I am so insistent on accuracy and endless questions. I love his honesty and strength, but sometimes he literally gets too hot for me and I have to separate from him, to feel my cool breeze again. I love being physically near him, but the mixture of our elements places a time on that closeness. For this reason we do not sleep in the same beds. In other ways we are of the exact same temperament, we are both passionate about whatever calls to us and dive into it like there is no tomorrow. When the other is in that mode we have to be forgiving because we know eventually it will be our turn asking for their grace. His passion is work, mine is spirituality. Therefore it works perfectly for him to go off in the day, which he makes good money at because he is so blazingly talented at it, which allows me to remain at home in the quiet to pursue my calling. It actually makes a great combination. The only problem is by the weekend I want to go out and he wants to stay home, or when he comes home in the evening I desire to commune, and he desires to retire for the day. So sometimes I give up going out on the weekend, so I can commune with my husband during the daylight hours when he is most refreshed. I am most excited about internal matters, so I don't miss the external stimulus too much. I go into him instead. A2: I am a calm presence & positive energy generator for my friends and I am the balancing force for my S.O. Q: Within your element do you find you tend to gravitate to a certain type of that element? e.g., water people - fresh vs. salty water, oceans vs. lakes, showers vs. baths, misters vs. rainstorms or soak it all in. A1: My favorite is freezing cold spacious air. I like lots of space and lots of cool air. A2: I tend towards others with high energy so I would tend towards a stronger AIR element to gain inspiration. I myself am a calmer AIR element. (Spring breeze vs. Fall Gail) Q: If you remember your dreams how does your element appear visually, symbolically, emotionally? Describe. A1: In my dreams the elements usually appear in their most volatile form – fire is lava, water is the ocean or flood, earth is the burying soil, and air is a tornado. I feel it shake the house, whistle through the windows, whip my hair around, and try to lift me into its torrent. Air can also appear as my ability to be telekinetic or manipulate energy/power. I love the ability to truly reside in my element and sometimes I have to do that from the safety of my dreams, so no one is affronted. I get tired of holding back so much. A2: My element appears as inspiration and innovation. As Mystical events. Like the Dream I had where I met you [Amie] under the willow tree and we talked. Q: How does your element enhance your senses and your body? Do you find some things to be more acute, while other things you are more immune? Explain. A1: Being an air element I think has complemented my disciplines in developing my senses. Therefore I am more acute in seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting, and smelling. Ironically, because I am so acutely attuned to the intangible I find the tangible to be overwhelming. This has caused daily mild seizures in my life. The seizures manifested when I was younger and promote and encourage a quieter lifestyle, so perhaps it is good that I am an air element, who naturally fits this more solitary path. I suppose you could wonder which came first, the chicken or the egg? Also because I am an air element, I find I am less prone to anger and can remain level headed in any given situation. However, I do tend to worry, not because I'm scared, necessarily, but because I see many future possibilities and I try to prepare for each. Sometimes its a balance to be carefree but also accurate. A2: I am very aware of things around me I pick up on things like a sixth sense, not always understanding it in the moment, but it's like a protective shield for me now that I've learned to listen to it. Q: Out of these four words which best describes your orientation: science, philosophy, spiritual science, tradition A1: Spiritual Science A2: Spiritual Science Q: Choose which word best describes you from the following: Stable, Playful, Creative, Energetic A1: Playful (I'm very creative, but that is just a result of the catalyst to play!) A2: Creative´¯`·.¸¸. 8I8 Q: Choose which word best describes you from this following list: Intuitive, Spontaneous, Strong, Compassionate A1: Intuitive A2: Compassionate Q: And which word are you most drawn to in this set: Knowledge, Success, Excitement, Practicality A1: Knowledge (but, to be accurate, Excitement takes equal billing.) A2: Excitement Q: If there is anything else you would like to include or would like to ask others of your element or of other elements, please feel free to do so here. A1: {blank} A2: I'd love to learn how to call upon my element when I need it most. how to stay in tune with it and how to use the other elements and not just react to them.
